FAQ for the General Public

Q
If I participate in this study, how will my personal information be managed?
A

All clinical information used in this research is anonymized. Only anonymized data will be handled, ensuring that personally identifiable information does not leave the participating institution.

Additional measures to protect personal data include using data solely for purposes approved by institutional review boards, avoiding the publication of analytical results that could identify individuals, and encrypting data during transmission.

Q
What are the benefits and risks of participating in this research?
A

Participation in this study will not significantly alter your regular treatment. However, using standardized medical record templates during consultations may reduce omissions of important medical information, potentially improving the quality of care.

Moreover, this project helps gather essential clinical data on obesity at a national level, which may contribute to improved obesity care practices in the future.

Participation involves minimal burden, and no disadvantage will result from choosing not to participate.
